The PROTECTOR ecoinnovative technology and product applications using organic waste/by-product recycled materials by advanced thermal and biotechnological recycling, which matching international products' standards, advanced design requirements and high quality consumer needs.

The first application and further market uptake of the PROTECTOR best eco-innovative technique is also an "hardware" type new recycling installation and infrastructure investment, which system is already have been technically demonstrated with success in the EU FP6 514082 RTD programme, but have not yet penetrated the market.

3R PILOT PLANT


The advanced, zero emission  3R carbonization product like pilot plant in Polgardi - Hungary
for thermal inactivation of animal bone meal for production of animal bone charcoal (ABC) carrier.


The project work programme consist of 8 coherently integrated work packages. All project management activities will be combined into one work package (WP1).
The e
ngineered design of innovative Solid Substrate Fermentation and Formulation (SSFF) technology based on the successfully FP6 project RTD results will be done in WP2. WP3 is the industrialization of the PROTECTOR biotechnological recycling technology, manufacturing and installation of 4 m3/batch capacity liquid and 8m3 /batch capacity Solid SSFF System in Hungary.

WP4 will provide a strong microbiological support work for the scale up of the biotechnological process, maintenance of industrial strains and development of production control and product quality system. In WP5 the PROTECTOR recycling technology will be real life tested for 24 months duration for the validation of the technology and product. During the real life production from the 25 tonnes of animal bone charcoal carrier  25 tonnes formulated PROTECTOR microbiological substance will be manufactured in Hungary. In WP6 comprehensive environmental, energy and economic performance evaluation of the PROTECTOR technology will be done based on the results of WP5 real life test. WP7 will support the project Trans-European and international dissemination programmes including demonstration show up of the operations for potential replication partners, professional website and intensive electronic communication interlinked with EACI requested common dissemination activities in WP8.
