Plant
Research International is a private not for profit research
institute with more than 600 experienced and highly motivated
personnel, and part of Wageningen University and Research Center.
Plant Research International works within the Plant
Sciences Group of Wageningen UR, together with Applied Plant
Research and Wageningen University. By integrating knowledge in
the fields of genetics and reproduction, crop protection, crop
ecology and agricultural systems, Plant Research International
offers a host of fresh perspectives to industry and public
institutions, agriculture, horticulture, and agro-ecosystems
linked to landscape and nature development.
The research
cluster "Ecological Interactions" within Plant Research
International, led by Dr. ir. C.J.H. Booij, is performing
research into all microbiological aspects of soils, substrates
and rhizospheres of key crop plants. One of the gaols is to
develop measures to reduce pathogen threat.
The research
facilities at Plant Research International are among the most
modern in the world. They range from laboratories with robotic
genomics equipment to greenhouses and growing rooms that are
customized to research requirements.
